Ryan (1-0) allowed one run on two hits and three walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Astros on Sunday.
Ryan was responsible for one run after Alex Vesia allowed a two-run home run to Yainer Diaz in the sixth inning. While he again walked three batters, Ryan has acclimated well to the majors so far through two starts, allowing just two runs (one earned) over 11 innings. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters after the game that Ryan will take his next turn through the rotation even though the Dodgers have two off days next week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. That means Ryan can be penciled in for a favorable road start at Oakland next weekend.
