Gonsolin (elbow) allowed just one walk over three innings while striking out six in his rehab outing Saturday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Making his third rehab start, Gonsolin delivered his best outing yet, racking up as many strikeouts as he had across his first two appearances with Oklahoma City. The 30-year-old right-hander is nearing the finish line in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and he appears poised to return from the 60-day injured list in the final week of the season and rejoin the Dodgers in some capacity. Since he tossed just 45 pitches Saturday, Gonsolin isn't stretched out for a traditional starting role, so an assignment to the bullpen could be more likely once he's activated.
