Roach was cut loose by the White Sox on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Roach was granted his release in order to pursue an opportunity in Japan. Across 16 games with Triple-A Charlotte this year, Roach logged a 2.65 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 61 strikeouts in 95 innings.
