If these rankings look unfamiliar to you, it's because they're 47 deep, our largest pool yet in a season five weeks old.
If these rankings look familiar to you, it's because 12 of these pitchers were on them last week.
How is that possible? Rainouts, mostly. It's a rainy time of year, which is something to keep in mind whenever you target a pitcher simply because he's in line for two starts. If he makes only one -- and there's a reasonable chance he will -- can you still live with the decision?
Personally, I'd be willing to start any of the first 28 pitchers listed here -- in either points or Rotisserie leagues -- and it's only the matchups that scare me away from Vince Velasquez at No. 29. He'd be easier to justify in a points league, where volume is rewarded over efficiency, and Trevor Bauer at 31 might not be a bad play in that format either (not to mention the guy in between).
Alex Cobb stands out as a legitimate sleeper pick, though, and while teammate Jake Odorizzi isn't as widely available, his ranking should quell your concerns about using him in his first start back from a strained hamstring.
Note to you Clayton Kershaw owners: The Dodgers are sticking with their six-man rotation for the time being, so don't count on getting a second start from him in a six-game week. (Not like it makes a difference in whether or not you start him, though.)
