The Rockies released Abad on Tuesday.
Abad has bounced back and forth between the Rockies and Triple-A Albuquerque this season but will now get to explore his options elsewhere. The 37-year-old left-hander sports a career 3.78 ERA over parts of 11 seasons in the big leagues.
