Rays closer Fernando Rodney (4-3) suffered his seventh blown save of the season and took the loss in a shaky outing against the Dodgers.
Rodney, who entered the game with a three-run lead in the ninth, gave up a run-scoring triple Mark Ellis, a run-scoring double to Nick Punto and another run-scoring double to Adrian Gonzalez to tie the game. He then threw a potential double-play ball into the outfield for a throwing error, allowing the game-winning run to score for the Dodgers.
Rodner yielded four runs -- three earned -- on four hits and one walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning in a 7-6 defeat. He has blown back-to-back save situations and owns a 4.24 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP in 46 2/3 innings.
