Rays closer Fernando Rodney was given a tough task in holding down the Diamondbacks with one out and the bases loaded in the eighth inning Wednesday in Arizona.

Rodney couldn't get the job done as he allowed a two-run single to right field by Martin Prado. The runs were charged to Joel Peralta as the Diamondbacks took a 9-8 lead. Rodney struck out and walked a batter as he finished the inning.

Peralta was charged with the loss and Rodney took his sixth blown save. His ERA is now at 3.69. Although Rodney has blown six saves, this was just his first since May 25. He has 27 saves on the year for the Rays.
