Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman hit his 17th home run Friday night during a 2-1 win over Miami. Freeman went deep in the first inning for a two-run homer off Jose Fernandez.
Freeman went 2 for 4 in the game as the Braves managed just five hits overall. He added his 23rd double and is batting .309 on the season for Atlanta.
With the two hits Saturday, Freeman has gone just 2 for 16 (.125) over his last five games. Able to swing himself out of a slump, Freeman is still batting .326 over his last 12 games with three homers and seven RBI over that stretch.
