Biggio signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

After beginning the season with the Blue Jays before spending nearly two months with the Dodgers, Biggio was released by Los Angeles on Aug. 9. He'll now remain in the NL West, although he will report to Triple-A Sacramento. The 29-year-old has slashed .197/.316/.306 with 19 RBI across 217 plate appearances in the majors this season, and he'll likely need to show improvement before earning a promotion to San Francisco.
