Shoemaker signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Saturday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Shoemaker was released by the Twins on Monday after he recorded a career-worst 8.06 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 60.1 innings with the major-league club in 2021. The right-hander will serve as organizational depth for San Francisco and is a candidate to join the major-league pitching staff if he can show improved results in the minors.
