Sanmartin was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
Sanmartin was in the midst of a 12.1-inning scoreless stretch at Triple-A, logging a 0.97 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB in seven appearances since July 8. He will occupy a spot in the big-league bullpen following multiple departures at the trade deadline.
