Flores will travel to Los Angeles and is scheduled to undergo a Tenex procedure on his right knee Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

The Giants are unlikely to provide a recovery timeline for Flores until the procedure is completed, but the veteran first baseman will likely be shut down from baseball activities for several weeks and could face an uphill battle to make it back from the injured list before the end of the season. Before he was deactivated July 25 with what the Giants had termed as right knee tendinitis, Flores operated largely in the short side of a platoon at first base and slashed .206/.277/.318 with four home runs and 26 RBI over 242 plate appearances. Trade-deadline pickup Mark Canha now looks to be the preferred platoon mate at first base with LaMonte Wade.
