The Giants transferred Flores (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday.
The transaction was a procedural move, as Flores had already been ruled out for the season after undergoing a procedure on his right knee earlier this month. The Giants activated left-hander Ethan Small (oblique) from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento. The 33-year-old Flores slashed .206/.277/.318 with four home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs over 242 plate appearances before being shut down for the season.
