Urshela is nearing a major-league contract with Atlanta, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Urshela was cut loose by Detroit over the weekend, but it looks like he's found a prime opportunity in Atlanta, where he would take over at third base for the injured Austin Riley (hand). The veteran infielder slashed just .243/.286/.333 in 92 games for the Tigers, but the 32-year-old entered the year as a career .277/.322/.423 hitter and Atlanta would be betting on a bounce-back effort.
