The Cubs released Deichmann on Monday.
Deichmann appeared in 14 games for the Cubs in the second half of the 2021 campaign, but he's played exclusively at Triple-A Iowa this season after losing his spot on the 40-man roster in late April. The 27-year-old posted a mediocre .606 OPS over 282 plate appearances in the International League, prompting the Cubs to move on from him.
