Rocchio is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
Rocchio was included in the lineup in four of the Guardians' last five games, but in three of those contests, Cleveland faced a left-handed starter or bulk reliever. He still looks to be stuck in the short side of a platoon at shortstop with the lefty-hitting Daniel Schneemann, who gets the starting nod Tuesday. Rocchio is hitting just .163 in July and carries a dismal .201/.293/.286 slash line over 299 plate appearances on the season.
