Clase earned a save against the White Sox on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters in a scoreless inning of work.
Clase entered in the ninth inning with a two-run lead and gave up just a harmless two-out infield single. The veteran closer punched out two of the four batters he faced -- just the second time he's recorded multiple strikeouts across his past 10 appearances. Clase is posting under a strikeout per inning for the second straight season, but that hasn't prevented him from putting together a dominant campaign. The right-hander is tied for the major-league lead with 43 saves -- one shy of the career-high mark he established last season -- and has registered a 0.68 ERA and 0.66 WHIP over 66.1innings.
