The Nationals requested unconditional release waivers for Ramirez on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old was designated for assignment by Washington on Tuesday, and he won't stick in the organization. Ramirez has a .261/.280/.324 slash line with two homers and six steals in 73 games between the Nationals and Rays this season.
