The Cubs released Milner on Sunday.
After passing through waivers unclaimed, Milner has now been cut loose by the Cubs. The veteran southpaw hasn't pitched in the majors since undergoing an appendectomy in late June, but he's healthy now after giving up three earned runs in 10.2 innings during his rehab assignment. Milner holds a 3.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and an 18:9 K:BB over 35.2 innings this season.
