Cleveland purchased Fillmyer's contract from the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus on Friday.
The 27-year-old right-hander has posted a 5.07 ERA over 104.2 career innings in the big leagues, all of which came with Kansas City between 2018 and 2019. Fillmyer will likely slide into the rotation for Columbus.
