Uribe was designated for assignment in order to make room for Andrew Miller on the 25-man roster and Brandon Guyer on the 40-man roster. The veteran was having a poor season offensively, hitting just .206/.259/.332 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 73 games. It remains to be seen whether he gets significant time with any other MLB club this season.
