McKenzie gave up one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings in his debut start for High-A Lynchburg.

McKenzie is an extreme case of a projectable teenage hurler, as he is 6-foot-5, 165 pounds, and already boasts an impressive repertoire with excellent command. If he can pack on some muscle and bump his fastball from the low-90s to the mid-90s, McKenzie would profile nicely atop a rotation. He won't turn 20 until Aug. 2, and will look to break the 100-inning threshold for the first time as a professional this season.
