McGee has announced his retirement from professional baseball, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
McGee pitched for 13 MLB seasons and compiled a 3.71 ERA over 650 relief appearances with 79 saves. He served as closer for the Rays, Rockies and Giants at various points in his career, and he also pitched for the Dodgers, Brewers and Nationals. The 36-year-old struggled to a 6.81 ERA over 42 appearances in 2022 while spending time with Washington, San Francisco and Milwaukee.
