The Astros designated Meyers (knee) for assignment Monday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Meyers managed just a .594 OPS over 57 games with the Astros this past season and spent much of the year back at Triple-A Sugar Land. The outfielder's season ended in mid-September due to a left kneecap injury suffered at Sugar Land, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to go through his normal workouts this offseason.
