Marquis started Team Israel's World Baseball Classic opener against South Korea on Monday, allowing two hits and striking out three over three scoreless innings.
Marquis is still currently a free agent, but that could change if he continues to pitch effectively in the WBC. Although he was able to cruise against Team South Korea, he'll likely need to show that he can have a similar amount of success against lineups with more major league talent in order to really catch teams' attention. Now 38 years old, Marquis most recently appeared in the big leagues in 2015 with Reds, when he posted a 6.46 ERA over nine starts.
