Thatcher was released by the Indians on Saturday.
The 34-year-old southpaw had not pitched since June 3 after the Indians brought him in after he was released by the Dodgers. It is unclear if he was dealing with an ailment or if it was just a bad fit, as he was never placed on the minor league DL.
