Gant (groin) signed a contract Tuesday with the Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan, Sung Min Kim of The Athletic reports.
Gant elected free agency after being outrighted by the Twins in early November, and he'll continue his career overseas with MLB players currently locked out. The 29-year-old appeared in 39 games (21 starts) between Minnesota and St. Louis in 2021 and posted a 4.09 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 92:71 K:BB across 110 innings.
