The Angels released Soler on Thursday.
Soler passed through waivers after being removed from the 40-man roster, and he's now officially a free agent. Though he's slashed only .203/.291/.373 with 12 home runs and a 32.7 percent strikeout rate this season, Soler should be able to land a new deal soon now that he can be signed to a veteran minimum contract.
