Abreu is not expected to sign with another team this season after being released by the Astros last month, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
The veteran first baseman was cut loose by Houston after managing just a .361 OPS in 35 contests. Abreu will be 38 heading into next season and is still owed $19.5 million by the Astros, but he will consider playing for another team in 2025 if the situation is right, per Romero.
