The Twins released Minaya on Sunday.
Minaya was one of three veteran relievers with prior MLB experience whom the Twins cut loose Sunday, with Tyler Thornburg and Ben Heller also receiving their walking papers. The 31-year-old right-hander turned in a 6.98 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 40 innings at Triple-A St. Paul this season.
