The Tigers declined Jansen's $12 million club option for the 2027 season Monday.
After signing a one-year deal with Detroit last winter, Jansen went on to record 22 saves with a 3.20 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB across 45 innings last season. He maintained his velocity at 38 years old and turned 39 shortly after the end of the regular season. Jansen will likely have to settle for another one-year deal this offseason.
