The Tigers released Hiura on Monday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Hiura was hitting just .232/.312/.401 at Triple-A Toledo and wasn't going to be playing much anymore after Spencer Torkelson joined Toledo's roster. The 27-year-old Hiura hasn't seen any action at the major-league level since 2022.
