The Blue Jays released Sosa from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Sosa was outrighted to Triple-A in mid-August following his activation from the 60-day IL after recovering from a right wrist contusion. He'll now hit the open market and look to catch on with a team in need of depth in the infield. Prior to his release, Sosa had a .490 OPS with one home run and nine RBI across 117 major-league plate appearances between the White Sox and Blue Jays.
