Twins starting pitcher Liam Hendriks got the call Monday in Chicago. The young starter couldn't even get out of the first inning.

Hendriks took the loss to fall to 1-3 on the season as he allowed seven earned runs in the first inning over two-thirds of a frame. He needed 41 pitches to get that deep and allowed five hits and three free passes. The loss brought his ERA up to 6.87 on the season for the Twins.

Hendriks has made eight starts this season and this was by far his worst to date. He's given up seven runs twice now, but he did it over 4 1/3 at least the last time on Aug. 24 at Cleveland. Minnesota continues to roll with a six-man pitching rotation and Hendriks makes his next start Sunday at Oakland.
