Bergman (1-2) pitched four innings, allowing 10 runs on 14 hits and two walks in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Nationals
Bergman found out that the Washington lineup is a little different than the Athletics'. Coming off a stellar performance five days ago, Bergman got shellacked by the Nationals, coughing up four long balls and 10 runs in just four innings. The biggest damage came with two outs in the bottom of the 4th inning. Bergman had already allowed three runs, and after getting a double play ball, he gave up six straight hits, including three home runs. The ugly stat line balloons his ERA from 2.25 to 6.30.
