Hancock allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision Friday in the Mariners' 5-4 win over the Rangers.
Hancock threw 60 of 90 pitches for strikes in the start, though the Mariners offense didn't wake up until after he exited the game. Hancock has given up three or more earned runs in four of his 10 major-league appearances this season and nows owns a 4.83 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 33:15 K:BB over 50.1 innings. With Luis Castillo (hamstring) on the injured list, Hancock could end up finishing the season in the majors as a member of the rotation. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Yankees.
