Gilbert tossed six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out 10 without a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
Gilbert dominated the Rays, posting his second scoreless start this month and seventh of the season. It was also his first time this year with double-digit strikeouts. Gilbert's night was over after 97 pitches and his strong effort was spoiled the very next inning after JT Chargois gave up a two-run blast to Jose Siri. Gilbert owns an impressive 3.09 ERA, 0.90 ERA and 172:31 K:BB in 171.2 innings and lines up to face the Athletics on Monday as part of a projected two-start week.
