Gilbert did not factor into the decision in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Athletics, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk with nine strikeouts over six innings.
Gilbert generated an impressive 16 whiffs on 95 pitches but was burned by a four-run third inning that included a three-run homer by Shea Langeliers. The 27-year-old righty has been inconsistent since the All-Star break, logging five quality starts while yielding 17 total earned runs in his other three outings. On the season, he owns a 3.19 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 181:32 K:BB across 177.2 innings and next lines up to face the Cardinals this weekend.
