Garver went 3-for-3 with two walks, a double, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.
Making his first start at catcher since July 20, Garver had a perfect day at the plate and did pretty well behind it too, guiding George Kirby and the Seattle bullpen to a combined shutout. Garver had been stuck in a 2-for-29 slump in his last eight games heading into Friday, but he remains the only backup option to Cal Raleigh and is part of the mix at designated hitter despite a career-low .649 OPS on the season. Once Randy Arozarena joins the team and Julio Rodriguez (ankle) is back in action, however, there will be greater competition for those DH at-bats.
