Miami claimed de Geus off waivers from Seattle on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.

De Geus will reclaim a 40-man roster spot with his new organization after the Mariners designated him for assignment over the weekend. The 26-year-old righty had made four appearances out of the Seattle bullpen but had otherwise spent most of the 2024 season at Triple-A Tacoma, with whom he logged a 6.60 ERA in 30 innings.
