Gordon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

This looks like a routine day off for Gordon after a stretch of 24 starts in 26 games since his return from suspension. Despite an 0-for-5 showing Thursday, Gordon is still batting .295 for the month although just two of his 26 hits have gone for extra bases. He's also been caught four times in 12 attempts on the basepaths in August.
