The Marlins placed Luzardo on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a lumbar stress reaction.
Though he battled a stiff back in his most recent outing this past Sunday in Washington, Luzardo had been listed as the Marlins' starter for Saturday's game versus the Mariners. The southpaw evidently didn't bounce back as well from the back injury as the team had hoped, and he's since been scratched from the start and placed on the IL. Miami has recalled Shaun Anderson from Triple-A Jacksonville to make a spot start Saturday in Luzardo's stead. The 26-year-old will be eligible to return from the IL on July 4, but it's unclear if he'll be ready to go by that time.
