Neidert was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Neidert has spent the majority of his season with Triple-A Jacksonville but did make an effective spot start with the big-league club Saturday. However, Edward Cabrera (elbow) is set to return to action, forcing Neidert back to the minors. Neidert could factor into the Marlins' plans down the stretch if the team is in need of depth in either the bullpen or rotation.
