Mets C Travis d'Arnaud leaves Saturday's contest with injury

Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud exited Saturday's game in the sixth inning after suffering an apparent arm injury while attempting to tag Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski on a sacrifice fly. The Mets announced that d'Arnaud suffered a left elbow injury. X-rays were negative and he is day-to-day with a hyperextended elbow.

With Pierzynski on third base, Pedro Ciriaco hit a fly ball to left field, and Michael Cuddyer's throw came up the line to d'Arnaud, at the same time Pierzynski headed home.

d'Arnaud and Pierzynski were tangled up and the Mets catcher lay on the field for several minutes before leaving under his power and being replaced by Kevin Plawecki.

d'Arnaud had recently returned from the disabled list after breaking his finger. He was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs before leaving the game.
