Syndergaard, who exited Sunday's game against the Nationals early, has been diagnosed with a "possible lat strain," Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

It initially wasn't clear where the injury occurred on Syndergaard, as he reached for his side/arm area following his second inning pitch that caused him discomfort. Early indications suggest that it's a lat injury, but we'll have to wait for confirmation on that front following Syndergaard's scheduled MRI on Monday in New York. He'll continue to be listed as day-to-day until the results of his MRI become available.
