Alonso (hand) took batting practice off a high-velocity machine Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Alonso shed his brace while taking grounders at first base Wednesday, and manager Luis Rojas confirmed that the first baseman is "trending well" in his recovery. Alonso appears to be on track for a relatively brief stay on the injured list, but the team hasn't yet decided whether he'll need a rehab assignment.
