The SoftBank Hawks of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball signed Uwasawa to a four-year contract Wednesday, The Mainichi reports.
Uwasawa signed a minor-league deal with the Rays last offseason and made two relief appearances with the Red Sox in May. The righty now returns to his native Japan to continue his professional career.
