Avilan (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
The move doesn't change Avilan's return timeline at all, as he underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-April and will be out until the middle of next year. It clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Jon Lester to return from the COVID-19 injured list.
