Corbin did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Cubs on Thursday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.1 innings while striking out four.

Corbin struggled against the Cubs' lineup, giving up one run on three singles in the opening frame before coughing up a two-run homer in the third. He was later relieved by Derek Law with one out in the fifth after Corbin allowed the first three batters to reach. The veteran lefty did generate 12 swings and misses on the night, but the outing marked the first time he's failed to make it through five innings since Aug. 16 against the Phillies, a span of five starts. He carries a 6.14 ERA in September through four outings to go along with a strong 23:5 K:BB.
