Freeman underwent the second Tommy John surgery of his career recently, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Freeman hit the injured list with what was originally termed a left flexor mass strain in mid-August. The strain was evidently quite serious, and he'll now miss the entirety of the 2021 campaign in addition to the remainder of this year. The veteran also underwent the procedure as a minor leaguer back in 2010.
